Huchuy Qosqo Trek 3-Day, Sacred Valley of the Incas & Machu Picchu by Train.

This hiking tour to Machu Picchu by the route Huchuy Qosqo Trek. Touring by the original path of the Incas that integrated the small towns of the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and to the Amazon jungle.
Nowadays, Huchuy Qosqo Inca Trail has become an impressive alternative route of trek towards Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.

It is a 3-day tour, highly recommended for those travelers who love trekking, being in contact with nature, do not have enough time in Cusco, want to do experiential tourism in the Andean communities and it is also perfect for families.

FIRST DAY, Cusco – Taucca Community – Huchuy Qosqo.

  • 7:00 am. We will pick you up fro your hotel.
  • 7:50 am. Activity with the local family.
  • 9:00 am. Start to hike.
  • 1:30 am. Lunchtime in the local family home.
  • free afternoon to take rest and enjoy the sacred valley.
  • spend the night family lodge

SECOND DAY, Huchuy Qosqo – Lamay – Ollantaytambo – Machu Picchu.

  • 6:30 am. breakfast
  • 7:00 am. Visit Huchuy Qosqo archeological site.
  • 8:30 am. Descent to Lamay.
  • 11:00 am. Journey to Urubamba
  • 12:00 am. Buffet lunch in Urubamba
  • 1:30 pm. Travel to Ollantaytambo.
  • 4:36 pm. Train departure to Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes)
  • 7:00 pm. Dinner in Aguas Calientes
  • Spend the night in a hotel.

THIRD DAY. Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Cusco.

  • 5:30 am. take the bus to Machu Picchu (optional).
  • If you want to go walking it’s an hour and a half.
  • 2 hours guide service
  • 2:30 pm or 7:00 pm. return train to Ollantaytambo.
  • Bus from Ollantaytambo to Cusco.

Itinerary

DAY 1:

Cusco – Taucca Community – Huchuy Qosqo.

To start Huchuy Qosqo Trek, we will pick you up from your hotel at 7 a.m. then we will journey in our private mobility until Taucca community. It is located 50 minutes driving from the city of Cusco and very close to the city of Chinchero.
In Taucca community, we will see the descendants of the Incas with their typical and colorful clothes, rustic houses with thatched roofs, crops that are only for their own sustenance. We can also see the extraordinary work done by the women of this community. The process of natural dyeing of wool and weaving gradually as it has done in the ancestral period.
Then, we will begin to hike gently uphill for three and a half hours until we reach the highest pass (Pukaqasa), from where we will have spectacular views, especially of the
Andes mountain range of Vilcabamba and from here we will start descending towards the Inca city of Huchuy Qosqo.
From Huchuy Qosqo we will have a charming view of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Finally, we will arrive at the small family house where we will have lunch, have dinner and spend our first night.
At night together with the family, we will make a bonfire and watch the constellations.

Today, our sunrise will be magical with excellent views of the snow-capped mountains, the Sacred Valley of the Incas, near the Inca city of Huchuy Qosqo and if we are lucky, we can see the Andean Condor gliding over the Urubamba River Valley.
After breakfast, we will visit with our professional guide the archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo, which is the palace of the Inca Wiracocha. We will go through all the important points seeing all detail, we will also take many beautiful photos.
After exploring this great Inca city, we will begin gently descend to Lamay town, where our mobility will be ready to take us to Urubamba city, which is the place of our buffet lunch.
Later, we will continue the journey in our mobility to Ollantaytambo where we will board the train to Machu Picchu Pueblo (16:36 hours). At Machu Picchu, we will have the dinner and spend the night in a hotel.

This morning’s departure is very early. Shortly before sunrise, our hike will be a one and half hour and we might also go up by bus 25 minutes.
Once we arrive at Machu Picchu town, immediately we’ll start to explore to the enigmatic complex led by our skilled guide, who will take us by the most interesting places of this great city, providing varied information of each highlight places, after all the explanation, we’ll have free time to explore more on our own and also we will able to climb up to Huaynapicchu or Machu Picchu mountains and finally we’ll take the bus down to the city of Aguas Calientes.
After lunch, we’ll board the train back to Ollantaytambo station and continue by bus to Cusco.
