Itinerary

DAY 1:

Cusco – Tinki – Upis.

To start Ausangate Hike 3 days, we will leave the city of Cusco at 07:00 a.m., we will journey in our private bus toward the south of the city of Cusco. On this 4-hour trip, we will pass through small towns: Urcos, Ocongate, Tinki and finally we will arrive at Upis, which is located on the slopes of the Ausangate Mountain.
After lunch, we will have free time; we will take a short walk to the Ausangate lagoon to acclimatize. If you are very well prepared, we can climb to the glacier (5,100 meters / 16,728 Ft). To reach the glacier, we do not need climbing equipment; you can only arrive with trekking shoes because the snow is located in a very accessible place. Just in case, we’ll take some crampons.
Later, dinner (6:30 pm) and accommodation in Upis.

Today will be a day of the great challenge of Ausangate Hike 3 days because we will hike more than 22 kilometers and we will also pass 2 highest points Arapa pass 4,980 meters /16,335 feet and Chillca pass 4,995 meters /16,384 feet.
To start our activity today. We will wake you up at 5:00 a.m. with coca tea or coffee in your tent and at 5:30 a.m. will have our energetic breakfast.
Then, we will begin to trek uphill (6:00 am) until Puca Cocha, which is the place of our lunch. In this part of the trek, the highest point is Arapa pass (4,980 meters) from where we will have excellent panoramic views, hike among stone forests and small freshwater streams.
After our delicious lunch, we will continue our trip to Ananta, which is the place of our second camp. In the same way, this part of our trek will be unique, since we will go to Chillca Pass, from where we will have incredible panoramic views of colorful lagoons and mountains. We will also be able to see hundreds of South American Camelids (Vicuñas, Alpacas, and Llamas) and finally, we will arrive at our Ananta camp.

Today is the last day of our Ausangante Hike 3 days adventure. Nevertheless, it is a long-awaited day because we will visit the Rainbow Mountain that in the last 3 years has become very famous and tourist place.
To be the firsts to arrive at this colorful place, we must have our breakfast at 5:30 a.m. then start to climb towards the Warmisaya pass (4,985 meters) from here in the distance we will already be able to see the Rainbow Mountain.
In this part of the hike, we will pass small lagoons full of birds of the Andes and arrive at the Rainbow Mountain at 9:00 a.m. to take good pictures before the crowd arrives. Then we will descend to the red valley, which is another fantastic place.
Later, appreciating the natural beauty, we will begin to descend to the Pampachiri community where our private bus will be waiting for us to take to the city of Cusco.
Finally, After our last lunch, we will say goodbye to our cook and muleteers.
Arrival at the city of Cusco – Hotel at approximately 6:00 p.m.
